Some photos of my piece at last week's Open Eyes Toronto exhibit, The Condo Show :
The text is taken from a poem I wrote called The Condo Dwellers. I printed the letters on grey vinyl and placed the various stanzas around the gallery, above other works, around other works, on beams overhead, etc. In this way the poem was experienced more or less ambiently, deriving meaning from the adjacencies to other work and its interaction with the gallery space. Because of the colour, the words did not immediately jump out at you. When people saw a stanza it became a game to find the rest. In this way not even the sequence of the poem was fixed, allowing for an even wider variety of meanings.
